Just one serving (1/3 of a medium avocado) can significantly contribute to a balanced diet, thanks to its high fiber content, low saturated fat levels, and rich monounsaturated fats totaling 5 grams. Apart from these heart-healthy fats, Colombian avocados also pack essential nutrients like vitamin E (6%DV), crucial for cell maintenance, and dietary fiber, which aids in regulating blood sugar levels. Additionally, they offer vitamin K for bone strength and blood clotting. With a bounty of vital vitamins and minerals, avocados also enhance the absorption of fat-soluble nutrients like vitamin A.

Moreover, avocados provide a notable 136 micrograms of the carotenoid lutein per serving (one-third of a medium avocado), a compound vital for eye health. Farm & Crop

Cultivating Excellence -
Nurturing Crop with Care and Delivering Premium Produce Worldwide

Avocado, a stone fruit grown on trees, undergoes an intriguing process of growth where the tree is grafted with avocado cuttings. While these trees can naturally soar up to 20 meters, commercial cultivation limits their height to 2.5 to 5 meters through pruning for efficient harvesting. Fruit-bearing typically commences in the third year, with harvest time determined by the fruit’s oil content

Our avocados grow under privileged climatic conditions and are managed under the best agricultural practices. This allows us to satisfy the most demanding standards and deliver first class products all around the world.

QUALITY STANDARDS & LOGISTICS CONTROL

From Harvest to Transit -
Ensuring Quality, Freshness, and Control Every Step of the Way

Direct Connect’s avocados boast a unique harvest schedule, occurring two weeks later than usual to ensure a nuttier taste and increased dry mass. Growers rely on distinctive cues like shape and color to identify optimal harvesting times.

Due to varying ripening rates, growers meticulously inspect trees multiple times for manual fruit selection. Upon picking, avocados undergo immediate cooling to 12˚C at the packing station, followed by rinsing, quality and size sorting, and packaging in preparation for shipment to our valued customers.

Following harvesting, washing, and sorting at the packing centers, the avocado-laden pallets are primed for transportation to their designated destinations. Ahead of transit, the temperature is further reduced to 5˚C, ensuring optimal preservation.

Shipments are facilitated by containers equipped with continuous temperature control. Remarkably, avocados remain at a stable ripeness level throughout their three-week journey, maintaining their quality and freshness.
